Tuition Policies

  • Registration is for a complete season.
  • Tuition for each season will be charged to your card on file on a monthly basis, depending on the number of class sessions in the month.
  • If your daughter is still enrolled by the first of the month, you will be charged in full for that month, no matter her attendance.
  • If you register in the middle of the month, your tuition will be prorated based on how many classes were left in that month.
  • If you need to cancel, make sure to notify us before the next month's tuition is charged and no more monthly charges will be applied to your account. The student may continue attending classes until the end of the month. No refunds will be made on months already charged.
  • If you are registering more than one family member, or for multiple classes, you will receive 10% off each additional child/class.

Cancellations / Make Ups / Attendance

  • If you are not able to attend a class (up to 2 times), you are welcome to attend another age/level-appropriate class of your choice as a make up. If the previous option was not possible, then upon request we can apply a credit towards the next month's payment.
  • We will do our best not to cancel classes. Weather updates no less than 1 hour before class.
  • Weather cancellations do not qualify for a refund, but a makeup class will be scheduled if possible. If a makeup class cannot be scheduled then credit (for future months) will be provided.
  • For cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances other than weather, if no makeup is scheduled, a refund for the class in lieu of a credit may be provided upon request.
  • If a student has poor attendance or misses class(es) very close to the recital, it is up to the teacher's discretion whether or not the student will be able to perform in the recital.
  • If a class does not meet its required number of registrants, Monsey Dance Academy reserves the right to discontinue the class. A prorated refund will be issued to you.

Additional Policies & Terms

  • Pictures and videos of the classroom which include any other person besides yourself/your own child are not permitted to be posted on any social media. This is for the safety, privacy and sensitivities of our teachers and students.
  • Any items left in the dance classroom or the area surrounding the classroom will be held on to for 30 days before they are considered hefker.
  • By participating in our dance classes, students and their legal guardians acknowledge and grant Monsey Dance Academy the right to use images and footage captured during classes, rehearsals, or events for promotional and advertising purposes, both online and offline.

Dress Code & Attire

  • Dance shoes can run several sizes different than street shoes. The best way to get a great fit is to go in person to a store. If ordering online, be sure to order a few sizes to try. Teachers can also help determine the right fit.
  • Special dance skirts may be purchased and worn. However, they are not ideal for students taking ballet, as they may interfere with proper instruction.
  • All Students: Hair tied back, no dangly jewelry or big/heavy headbands.
  • As classes are located in New Square, please be mindful of the community's dress code and come to and from class dressed accordingly.
  • Hip-hop: Comfortable top with sleeves (short or long), pants/leggings, sneakers
  • Contemporary: Top with sleeves (short or long), leggings. Bare feet/socks.
  • Lyrical: Form fitting top or leotard with sleeves, leggings. Jazz or lyrical shoes.
  • Kids Ballet: Pink leotard with pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
  • Adult Ballet: Form fitting black leotard with sleeves (short or long), black tights or fitted leggings, and pink split-sole ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
  • Optional: sweater (form-fitting, shouldn’t be loose), ballet friendly skirt (short, flairy, sheer wrap around).
  • Gymnastics: Leotard, leggings, barefoot.
